California NAACP Outraged At The Death Of Another Black Man At The Hands of Oakland Law Enforcement
SACRAMENTO - The California NAACP is astounded yet again at the police misuse of deadly force inflicted on another African American man. The Oakland Police Department has a history of Black men suffering indignity and unnecessary death at the hands of police officers. This time, unarmed 37-year old Derrick Jones was gunned down by police and shot no less than five times. Final statements reveal Mr. Jones was unarmed but police said he had a metal object, yet to be identified.
